What To Do
Here we will look at the Lough, which is one of Cork city's most popular attractions.
The Lough is a natural lake, fed by underwater springs, about 1.5 kilometres south-west of Cork city centre. It is a designated wildlife sanctuary and a popular public amenity.
Locals and tourists alike take delight in the tame wildfowl that populate the Lough. The Parks Section of Cork City Council looks after the Lough on behalf of the people of the city.
The Lough offers space for family outings, where children can play and adults can relax. For this reason and others, it is one of the most important public amenities in Cork.
