The children's playground on the western side of the Lough was originally installed in the 1970s. Then, at the turn of the new century, a boat unit was added. This added a fun activity for visitors, who can take to the water themselves and row around the lake.
By 2004, the playground was getting rather old. To bring it up to date, it was kitted out with many new pieces of equipment.
