In this old, tinted photograph, we see a bridge that crossed the Tolka River in the Abbotstown area. This photograph dates from around 1900.

The M50 has numerous bridges, or flyovers, allowing traffic to pass overhead.
These bridges are very important. Without them, Blanchardstown would be cut off from Castleknock.
