The Limerick section of the Irish Tourist Association Survey of 1943 and 1944 is important, as it shows us what certain landmarks in Limerick looked like in the 1940s. A detailed report was filled in for each area.
The survey was arranged by the parish and by barony. A barony was an old administrative unit, which was made up of a number of parishes. Altogether, Co. Limerick had fourteen baronies.
