The coal store was later moved outside, where toilets were also built. In the 1960s, cloakrooms and indoor toilets were added, along with a play shelter and water tower.

Gaile School has had many alterations during over a century of existence, but it still operates with the same two classrooms it had on its opening day. Therefore, children are learning in the same rooms as their ancestors, creating a sense of continuity and tradition.
