There were parades through the streets of Waterford for the foreign crews and the public were able to climb the gangplanks and go on board the ships.

© Waterford City CouncilThe event was a huge success. Over 450,000 visitors came to Waterford to see the Tall Ships before they set off on their journey of several hundred nautical miles. It was one of the the biggest and most successful events ever staged in the country.
