Municipal household waste makes up a relatively small percentage of Ireland's waste. As can be seen from the pie chart above, Industrial Process Waste, at 54%, is the primary waste component. Of this particular type of waste, mining and mineral processing accounts for 53%.
C & D waste (Construction and Demolition) accounts for 22% of Ireland's waste, although this figure is anticipated to fall due to the economic downturn and subsequent contraction of the construction industry.
