The Guinness Archive is a treasure chest preserving over 250 years of Guinness company and brand history. The collection reflects the development of the Guinness Brewery in Dublin from its foundation in 1759, documenting the work of Brewery departments, trade and social conditions as well as the global development of the Guinness brand. The collection comprises of paper material (including personnel files of past employees), advertising, photographs and film, memorabilia and artefacts.

Arthur Guinness signature
Sir Arthur Guinness founded the Guinness brewery at St. James' Gate in 1759 after signing a 9,000 year deal for £45 a year. The Guinness dynasty were involved in the management of the hugely successful company until 1986.
