The Meath County Library Local Studies department is housed at the Library Headquarters in Navan. The Department holds a large reference collection of items including: modern and antiquarian books, journals, Board of Guardian minute books, County Council archives, census returns, Griffith's Valuation, graveyard records, local newspapers on microfilm, schools folklore collection, Tithe Applotment books, maps and photographs.
