By kind permission of Dublin City Public LibrariesThe late Patrick Byrne had a great interest in Dublin's ghost stories and published a weekly column in the Evening Herald throughout the 1960s.
He also published articles in the Dublin Historical Record (the full set is available in the Reading Room in the Dublin City Library and Archive in Pearse Street, Dublin). These articles were published under the name P.F. Byrne; he also published some pamphlets under the same name.
The lecture that is reproduced here was given to the Old Dublin Society on the 17th December 1975 and was reproduced in the Dublin Historical Record in December 1976.
