Dance Theatre of Ireland founded in 1989 is one of  Ireland's premiere contemporary dance companies touring Europe, Asia and America. The Company opened in October 2000 a state of the art Centre for Dance in Dun Laoghaire at Bloomfields. The New Centre is the home of the Company and its extensive award-winning Outreach Programme, Dance POP, as well as a diverse programme of dance classes & courses for adults and young people. Dance Theatre of Ireland's work is supported primarily by The Arts Council of Ireland with assistance from a wide variety of Irish and International Cultural institutions.
