Glasnevin Museum
Glasnevin Cemetery is the largest and most famous cemetery in Ireland. The cemetery was created in 1832 and is used by all religious communities to intern their dead. Among those buried in Glasnevin are major Irish political figures such as Daniel O'Connell, Michael Collins and Eamon De Valera. The exhibits at the Glasnevin Museum span the social, historical, political and artistic development of modern Irealnd which is represented by the lives of generations of Irish people from all walks of life who reside in the cemetery. Glasnevin cemetery is as important in Irish history as Père Lachaise cemetery in Paris is to French history.
