Carsten KriegerOccasional areas of woodland occur in the Burren, particularly in the more sheltered eastern section. Native trees include Yew, Hazel, Ash and Holly.
Where these trees are allowed to mature, woodlands have developed. Here we find ferns growing in abundance while woodland flowers like primrose, wood sorrel and helleborines grow beneath the trees.
