Atlantic Blanket Bog
Atlantic blanket bogs are located in low-lying coastal plains and valleys in mountainous areas of western counties, typically lower than 200 m above sea level. They are particularly well established in counties Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Kerry, Clare and Sligo. Their vegetation is clearly distinct from raised bog and mountain blanket bogs.
