Electric Picnic differs from other festivals in Ireland in that the music choice is more varied as the organisers want to appeal to as many musical tastes as possible. This is what makes Electric Picnic so popular with music lovers from all over the country.
It's not just music though that's found here. There is also a 24-hour cinema tent for those that want to escape from the music for a while. Recently, a comedy area was provided too which hosted famous comedians such as Des Bishop and Neil Delamere.

There is usually nicer food and better sleeping conditions on offer too which is important for the older music fans.
Some of the musicians to have played at Electric Picnic over the past few years include Bjork, New Order, The Frames, Super Furry Animals, Fatboy Slim and Damien Dempsey.
