The Táin translated by Thomas Kinsella

The Táin Bó Cuailnge is the central tale of Ireland's great epic mythological history. These heroic tales are of eighth century Ulster origin. The story tells the tale of a grand cattle-raid, the aim of which is to carry off the Great Brown Bull of Cuailnge.

Thomas Kinsella's 1969 translation of medieval manuscripts makes this great work accessible to modern readers. The edition shown is illustrated by thirty-one commendable brush drawings by Louis le Brocquy.
