The Office of Public Works (OPW) has made a National Flood Hazard Mapping Website available to the public and planners to identify areas at risk from flooding so that they can make informed decisions about land usage.

Flood Warning System
There has been a marked change in the rainfall patterns of Ireland, especially in the last 20 years. In order to try and accurately predict the levels which may occur, researchers in University College Cork have devised a new online flood warning system. Although still in the early stages, this research could prove to be invaluable for both environmental and infrastructural sectors of the government.
