Statement on Housing Policy
Delivering Homes Sustaining Communities - Statement on Housing Policy was launched in February 2007. It outlines a vision to transform the Irish housing sector over the coming years. It sets out a range of actions aimed at:
- Building sustainable communities;
- Responding to housing needs in a way that improves choice and tailors support, taking account of the households position in the life-cycle;
- Effective delivery of housing programmes.
This statement outlines a range of options that will be utilised to deliver more sustainable communities, including legislative changes, the development of additional guidance documents to further support the building of sustainable communities, effective use of the funds allocated under the National Development Plan 2007 – 2013, and a focus on housing renewal.
