Local Authority Strategies
The Irish Government does not yet require Local Authorities to prepare climate change strategies. That said, Local Authority Development Plans are subject to Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEAs), which require a climate impact assessment. Nevertheless, several county councils have prepared stand-alone climate change strategies (Kilkenny, Cork, North Tipperary, South Tipperary and Waterford County Councils, for example), details of which can be found in the EPA's 2013 report "Co-ordination, Communication and Adaptation for Climate Change in Ireland: an Integrated Approach".
Local Authorities are also undertaking energy efficiency measures to address climate change, more details of which can be found on the Association of Irish Energy Agency website.
