Climate Action

School Students Protesting for the Climate

International action is crucial in addressing climate change through creating laws and adopting policies that allow global emissions reductions. It is very important that individuals also change their behaviour in order to respond to climate change. This can involve how we think or act with regards to our attitudes and behaviours around climate change.

Education around sustainable development practices and ethos have been considered globally as a cornerstone to tackling the issue of climate change. Sustainable Development is a concept that is based on the idea that everyone has a role to play in addressing global challenges. The Sustainable Development 2030 Agenda and its set goals is a framework that promotes the values, knowledge and skills needed to address the climate crisis through adequate climate action. Global adoption and participation of sustainable development will allow for a healthier, fairer and environmentally sustainable society.

Please see how you can become a climate friendly school by using the guidelines set out in the United Nations report titled Getting Climate Ready: A Guide for Schools on Climate Action’.
