Civil Service
In 1910 MacGreevy moved to Dublin after passing the civil service examination to take up a position with the Irish Land Commission, Dublin with its range of cultural activities fostered his interest in the arts. He transferred to London in 1912 where he worked in the Intelligence Department of the Admiralty when World War I began in August 1914.
In all, MacGreevy spent seven years in British Civil Service.
