St. Fin Barre's Cathedral

The site of St. Fin Barre's cathedral has been a place of worship since the 7th century, while the school associated with him there continued to be listed among the five principal monastic schools of Ireland down to the 10th century. Although no trace exists of the early foundation, the present 19th Century Cathedral is today the premier public building in Cork, designed by the Victorian genius William Burges.
