They seek to impart knowledge on the marine mammals and other wildlife they encounter and on the wider issues of marine conservation through informed commentary with special emphasis on the current threats facing these unique animals and their fragile environment. They directly support conservation measures through education and research. They operate to a self imposed code of ethics and behaviour which may be viewed on their website and is displayed in full on board their vessels.

Risso's Dolphins showing pale colouration
Risso's dolphin (Grampus griseus) is the largest whale called 'dolphin'. It is typically 10 feet in length but can grow to as much as 14 feet and can weigh 300–500 kilograms (660–1,100 lb). The male of the species is usually larger than the female.

Two Fin Whales
The Fin Whale (Balaenoptera physalus) is a large whale that can grow to more than 80 feet in length and can weigh as much as 70,000 kilograms (150,000 lb). Considered an endangered species they are protected by an international moratorium on whaling.
