The rocks at this rockpool are covered in barnacles

Have you ever seen cone-shaped shells on the rocks along the shore? Tiny little animals called barnacles live underneath these shells. They are related to crabs, and like to attach themselves to rocks or walls along the shore.

Barnacles only come out from their shell when the tide is in and they are covered in water. They reach out their tiny legs to feed on small water animals passing by.
