Climate Change Strategies
European Environment Agency member countries are at different stages of preparing, developing and implementing national climate change adaptation strategies. These depend on the magnitude of observed impacts, the nature of present and future vulnerability and the country’s adaptation capacity.
In January 2010, all countries submitted information on their adaptation plans in their 5th National Communication to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. On the following pages are brief summaries of adaptation strateges from the UK, Germany and Sweden. More information on EEA nations’ progress towards national adaptation strategies are on the European Environmental Agency website and at the European Climate Adaptation Platform (Climate-ADAPT).
