Sweden

Sweden has developed the SWECIA programme, which aims at creating a capacity for advanced analysis and assessment that combines climate, economy and impacts into a consistent framework. The programme looks into the adaptation process itself, focusing on learning from past and present success stories and on identifying bottlenecks in adaptation.

Climatools

The Climatools research programme is run by the Swedish Defence Research Agency (FOI) on behalf of the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. It consists of developing different tools that will assist decision makers adapt to the consequences of climate change at local and regional level. The focus of the programme is principally on areas such as health, habitation and infrastructure as well as tourism and outdoor life.
