The Seán Dunne Young Writer's Awards sponsored by Waterford City Council invites young writers to compose a creative work in Irish or English. The prize is a commission worth €1, 500 for the nation-wide winner and €600 for the local Waterford winner.

Local entries will be accepted from writers who are born or are resident in Waterford City and County area and are under 21. While the nation-wide competition entrants must be born or resident in Ireland and under 30. The categories are poetry, fiction and drama.

The winning works will be read at the Seán Dunne Literary Festival. More information is available is available form the Waterford City Council Art's Office: arts@waterfordcity.ie
