The area of Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown is located to the south of Dublin City and has a population of 217,274 in 2016. Although located within the general urban area of Dublin , there are many areas where the natural environment can be enjoyed.

The coastline of Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown extends for 17km, and boasts many attractive stretches such as Dún Laoghaire Harbour and Killiney Bay , while suburban parklands provide a welcome escape from the rush of city life.
